had mango sticky rice from the cart at the end of my soi. went back for a second before I'd even left.
wore a coat for the first proper autumn morning. regretted it by noon on the northern line.
third mainland bridge in 20 minutes this morning. I'm telling my grandchildren about it.
said sorry to a door I walked into. the guy holding it said sorry back.

watched the fishing nets at fort kochi in the evening. the cafes are filling up again, season's starting.
had chole kulche and lassi in sector 22 with the whole family. october weather is finally kind.
left for the long weekend and spent the first two hours of it at the kherki daula toll. still counts as a trip.
half my office is posting from coorg and chikmagalur. I'm at home with dosa batter and I'm fine.

had vada pav outside dadar station. long weekend plans: none. no regrets.
stayed back for the long weekend. golf course road had no traffic and cyber hub was half empty. didn't know gurgaon could be this quiet.

got a whole metro coach to myself on the magenta line. long weekend delhi is a different city.
queued 20 minutes for chicken rice at maxwell. worth it, as always.
garba practice started in our society. one uncle has done the same step for 20 years and it still works.

went to sarafa at night to "just try one thing". tried six.
did sinhagad with what felt like all of pune. the pithla bhakri at the top made it worth it.
went to marine drive at 7am. just joggers, one chai guy and me.
went to manek chowk at midnight with my cousins for pav bhaji and sandwiches. we argued about cricket till the stalls shut.
took an ojek in the rain. the driver handed me a poncho that covered exactly half of me.
got lost in khan el khalili. a shopkeeper walked me out, then insisted I have tea first.

found my bike where I left it. someone had locked theirs to it. waited 20 minutes for them.
had irani chai and osmania biscuits near charminar for three hours. nobody asked us to leave.
saw giraffes behind the skyline from the southern bypass on my way to work. still not used to it.
an hour on the 405 to go six miles. knew every song on the radio by the end.

it rained all afternoon so the long weekend trek turned into a long weekend nap.
went to besant nagar beach in the evening. sundal, a kite stuck in a tree and half of chennai.
walked past three pujo pandals being built on the way home. two weeks to go and the para is already buzzing.

every delhi car is in jaipur this weekend. saw hawa mahal lit up at night though, worth the traffic.
went to tunday with cousins who came home for the long weekend. nobody spoke for 15 minutes. we just ate.

found a vending machine in a tiny alley near my station that sells hot corn soup. october is officially here.
cycled around sukhna lake in the morning. half of tricity had the same long weekend idea.

calangute is packed with the long weekend crowd so I went south and had a beach almost to myself.
the jeepney waited for an old lady to finish crossing. nobody honked. not one person.
a stranger's birthday at the boteco turned into the whole bar singing parabens.
had tacos al pastor at a stand in roma. the taquero flicked the pineapple onto my plate from a metre away.
went to india gate in the evening with my parents. dad bought everyone ice cream like we were kids again.
