got lost in khan el khalili. a shopkeeper walked me out, then insisted I have tea first.
an hour on the 405 to go six miles. knew every song on the radio by the end.
said sorry to a door I walked into. the guy holding it said sorry back.
had irani chai and osmania biscuits near charminar for three hours. nobody asked us to leave.
took an ojek in the rain. the driver handed me a poncho that covered exactly half of me.

a cat sat with me at the kadikoy ferry stop till my boat came, then left without saying bye.
went to marine drive at 7am. just joggers, one chai guy and me.
did sinhagad with what felt like all of pune. the pithla bhakri at the top made it worth it.

went for an early walk at bondi. water's still freezing in october. a few people swam anyway.
walked galle face green in the evening. isso vadai, kites, couples and one guy doing pushups.
said bonjour so confidently the boulanger replied in fast french. I took my baguette and left.
garba practice started in our society. one uncle has done the same step for 20 years and it still works.

had chole bhature at sita ram diwan chand. everyone's out of town so there was no queue for once.
went to manek chowk at midnight with my cousins for pav bhaji and sandwiches. we argued about cricket till the stalls shut.

had vada pav outside dadar station. long weekend plans: none. no regrets.
went to sarafa at night to "just try one thing". tried six.
stayed back for the long weekend. golf course road had no traffic and cyber hub was half empty. didn't know gurgaon could be this quiet.
half my office is posting from coorg and chikmagalur. I'm at home with dosa batter and I'm fine.

watched the fishing nets at fort kochi in the evening. the cafes are filling up again, season's starting.
queued 20 minutes for chicken rice at maxwell. worth it, as always.
left for the long weekend and spent the first two hours of it at the kherki daula toll. still counts as a trip.
third mainland bridge in 20 minutes this morning. I'm telling my grandchildren about it.
had chole kulche and lassi in sector 22 with the whole family. october weather is finally kind.
